VOICE
VOICE builds feminist crisis and leadership infrastructure that protects, positions, and sustains women and girl leaders working to address violence against women and girls in contexts of crisis and instability.
Across conflict, climate disasters, democratic backsliding, and political backlash, women and girl-led organizations are often the first responders to violence and the long-term stabilizers of their communities. They operate gender-based violence response services, defend reproductive autonomy, support displaced families, and organize against rights erosion. Yet these leaders remain significantly underfunded, excluded from decision-making spaces, and exposed to growing political and digital risk.
VOICE works to change this reality by strengthening the infrastructure that supports women’s leadership in crisis response.
Through partnerships with women- and girl-led organizations, VOICE helps position these leaders within the coordination and funding systems that shape crisis response. We document funding gaps, track patterns of exclusion, and produce research that pushes humanitarian and philanthropic systems toward greater accountability and more equitable funding flows.
At the same time, VOICE protects and sustains the leaders themselves through Pause to Power, a leadership stabilization and regeneration platform that provides trauma-informed care, security training, peer exchange, and organizational resilience support for women and adolescent girl leaders operating under sustained crisis conditions.
VOICE also advances narrative sovereignty through cultural and storytelling initiatives that ensure women and girls control how their experiences and leadership are represented in public discourse.
Together, these efforts strengthen the infrastructure needed for women and girls to lead communities through crisis, confront violence, and build long-term resilience.
