Marcela Pinilla
Director of Sustainable Investing, Zevin Asset Management
Marcela brings deep expertise in integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks and impacts into active investing. Serving as Director of Sustainable Investing for Zevin Asset Management, Marcela extends this discipline into ZAM’s advocacy work, partnering with investors, civil rights groups, experts, and fellow advocates to challenge business practices that harm society or the environment, and to drive lasting, collective, positive change.
Marcela’s career reflects a sustained commitment to this work: previously serving as Director of Shareholder Advocacy at Mercy Investments, Director of Sustainable Investing at CBIS, and leading ESG research at Boston Trust Walden. More recently, she has consulted independently and with BSR for a range of Fortune 500 companies and advised on and supported ESG and impact due diligence for KKR’s Global Impact Fund.
Marcela earned an MS in International Health Policy & Management and an MBA focused on Sustainable Development, both from Brandeis University. Marcela serves on the Stewardship Committee for the Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board (Mass PRIM. She is also a board member of the New York Foundation, a philanthropic and nonprofit leader supporting grassroots organizing, advocacy, and grantmaking in service of social justice movements working toward a more just and inclusive New York City.
