Gina Reiss

Social Entrepreneur and Executive Leader

Gina Reiss is a social entrepreneur and executive leader with three decades of organizational and fundraising experience in the nonprofit sector. She is Principal of Reiss² Advisors, providing strategic fundraising counsel to nonprofit and social-impact organizations. She has raised more than $40 million for social justice and human rights causes. She has worked across many cultures and global complexities and managed diverse teams across the U.S., Southeast Asia, and East Africa.

She has created and led campaigns across a broad range of issues and cultures—from ending gender-based violence and sexual exploitation to advancing women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, child marriage, menstrual health management in Kenya, stopping sex trafficking in Cambodia, keeping girls safe in the Jijiga refugee camps of Ethiopia, and combating violence against transgender women of color in the U.S.

Ms. Reiss is the Founding Director of the Girl Up Campaign at the United Nations Foundation, which now operates a global network of regional affiliates impacting 345,000 girls and youth leaders in 155 countries and all 50 U.S. states. Fast Company selected Ms. Reiss among its 2012 “League of Extraordinary Women” for this effort.
