Fatimah Gifford
Executive Director, Provide
Fatimah Gifford is a nationally recognized communications strategist and movement leader with more than 25 years of experience in marketing, public relations, and narrative strategy, and over a decade dedicated to advancing reproductive health, rights, and justice. As Executive Director of Provide, she leads the organization’s strategic vision to equip providers across systems of care with the tools, training, and support needed to deliver stigma-free, person-centered reproductive healthcare.
Fatimah has shaped communications strategies for some of the most high-profile legal and policy battles in the country. Her expertise spans brand strategy, crisis communications, and philanthropic engagement, and she is a trusted national voice whose work has been featured by outlets such as NPR, MSNBC, and The New York Times.
In 2023, Fatimah co-founded SGW Strategies, a Black women-led communications firm rooted in reproductive justice and dedicated to shifting narratives, building power, and institutionalizing practices that advance bodily autonomy, economic justice, and climate resilience for Black and other marginalized communities. Through SGW, she partners with advocates, funders, and organizations to drive cultural and political change through strategic communications and movement-aligned storytelling.
A Southern Black woman from Texas, Fatimah brings a deeply relational and values-driven approach to leadership. She has held senior communications roles at national reproductive justice organizations, previously served as Board Chair of Ibis Reproductive Health, and currently serves as Board Chair of Physicians for Reproductive Health. Her work is grounded in a reproductive justice framework that centers those most impacted by intersecting systems of oppression and recognizes narrative as a critical lever for both cultural transformation and institutional change.
Whether leading organizational rebuilds, shaping national campaigns, or advising cross-movement collaborations, Fatimah is known for her ability to translate complexity into clarity, build trust across stakeholders, and move organizations toward sustainable, equity-centered impact.
