A new hire from the D.C. Bar Foundation will develop programs and policies that advance equity and justice
SAN FRANCISCO — The Women’s Funding Network (WFN) is excited to announce the launch of a new policy program with the hire of Mirenda Meghelli, who will shape thought on policy issues relating to childcare, economic mobility, and additional areas that impact women and girls around the world.
“It’s our mission as a global alliance to provide strategies, research, and resources that support women’s foundations and gender justice funders in the movement for equality, justice, and power for all,” says Elizabeth Barajas-Román, President & CEO of WFN. “We know that we must accelerate our fight in 2022, and we’re thrilled to grow our capacity to create evidence-based policy learnings and recommendations that can propel our movement for equality, justice, and power for all.”
Mirenda Meghelli now serves as WFN’s Senior Manager for Policy and Programs. As a key member of the WFN leadership team, Mirenda manages the day-to-day programs and projects, overall program systems, and policy work. Mirenda has over fifteen years of nonprofit experience, most recently serving as a Program Officer at the D.C. Bar Foundation. Prior to that, Mirenda was Partnerships Manager at Pro Bono Net, a national nonprofit that uses innovative technology to increase access to justice and facilitate collaboration between community justice stakeholders. Mirenda has also held positions at Legal Information for Families Today and the Bronx Defenders, a public defender nonprofit. Mirenda received a B.A. in History from the University of Pennsylvania and earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
Kinisha Holland also recently joined the WFN team. In Kinisha’s role as Operations Associate, she supports WFN’s leadership team in daily operational tasks, process improvement and overall efficiency, and functions as a liaison to the Board of Directors. Previously, Kinisha worked at the intersection of healthcare and philanthropy at the OhioHealth Foundation. She holds a B.A. in Journalism from The Ohio State University.
