In response to the spike in violent conflicts around the globe, WFN has put together a media kit with social media posts, graphics, and information that you can share through the giving season as part of our #WomensFundsForPeace initiative — designed to raise awareness of, and direct resources to, key feminist organizations working in conflict zones.
History has shown us again and again that women, children, and LGBTQAI+ people face a particularly high threat of violence during armed conflicts, where violence against women, including sexual violence, increases exponentially.
It’s critical to get emergency humanitarian aid as well as long-term rebuilding efforts into communities by funding groups that center women and girls in each region’s recovery. Thank you for helping us share this important message.

History shows us that women, children, and LGBTQAI+ people face a particularly high threat of violence during armed conflicts, where violence against women, including sexual violence, increases exponentially. An all-out war began in Sudan in April of this year, and though women were the first to anticipate the impending crisis and warn the world about it, their calls to the U.N. to help end militarization and support pro-democratic forces were ignored. Now, military forces are using gang rape as a weapon of war. The U.N. Humanitarian Chief called Sudan “one of the worst humanitarian nightmares in recent history.”
These five organizations have active grassroots partners in Sudan who know where resources are needed moment to moment. In addition to providing immediate aid, these funds also support local organizations documenting the violations against women and human rights defenders, so the world can have a clear picture of what’s happening on the ground.
