Sara Keilholtz
Senior Director of Data and Strategic Insights
Sara Keilholtz serves as the Senior Director of Data & Insights at the Women’s Funding Network, where she guides the development of DataWoven, a collaborative initiative that integrates demographic data, IRS 990 financials, and community-generated insights to illuminate how gender, race, and resourcing shape the nonprofit landscape.
Her work is rooted in participatory practice, feminist data ethics, and a belief that data systems should strengthen community agency rather than extract from it. Guided by the questions “why?” and “what can be done?”, Sara brings a grounded, relational approach to designing tools that help organizations see patterns clearly and act with intention.
Before joining WFN, Sara held executive leadership roles in the nonprofit sector and taught writing and argument at the University of Oregon, experiences that continue to shape her focus on accessibility, shared learning, and meaning-making. She also conducts research into the nonprofit sector, exploring how structural factors influence equity, sustainability, and organizational practice.
With expertise in data architecture and governance, Salesforce development, systems integration, and Tableau visualization, Sara works to translate complex information into insights that are clear, trustworthy, and actionable. She collaborates closely with funders, researchers, and movement partners to advance responsible data governance and cross-sector learning.
Sara has spoken at the UN World Data Forum, the Commission on the Status of Women, Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy, Feminist Funded, and the Unity Summit, contributing to national conversations on collective intelligence and equity-centered data design.
