Laura Risimini

LGR Consulting

Laura Risimini is a feminist philanthropic advisor and the Founder & President of LGR Consulting, where she partners with donors, funders, and nonprofits to fuel bold, community-powered strategies for gender justice through feminist and collaborative philanthropy.

Laura also serves as the Director of Grants at Amplify Her Foundation, where she leads the Foundation’s grantmaking strategy and cultivates cross-sector partnerships that advance gender and racial justice across New York City. Her work centers on resourcing movements, leaders, and organizations that are building power and creating systemic change for women and girls, particularly those from historically marginalized communities.

Previously, Laura served as Managing Director of the Purpose Foundation, a start-up fiscal sponsor for social impact campaigns, and as Foundation Manager of the HLH Family Foundation (formerly The Sister Fund), where she guided its evolution from a women’s fund to a multigenerational family foundation. Throughout her career, Laura has had the unique opportunity to support organizations across their entire lifecycle—from start-up to sunset—specializing in building operating structures, designing participatory grant cycles, and embedding feminist funding principles into institutional practice.

Laura is co-author of The Uprising of Women in Philanthropy (Routledge, 2024), which explores the transformative impact of the global women’s funding movement. She holds a BA in International Studies and an MA in Political Science from Fordham University and is passionate about working for organizations that support the leadership and advancement of women and girls.
