Sam Hopper serves as Community Engagement Manager, working closely to connect the global WFN community through virtual events, communications, and new tools and research for boosting collective learning and knowledge.

One of Sam’s passions and a common theme across her professional and volunteer work has been connecting people with the tools and resources needed to achieve their goals.

Prior to WFN, Sam was the Director of Constituent Engagement for a Massachusetts State Senator. In this role, Sam worked to make state resources and services accessible to the Senator’s constituents and advocated on their behalf to ensure their state-related issues and concerns were understood and addressed. She engaged with individuals and advocacy groups to understand their priorities and provided knowledge and tools so they could effectively navigate government. Additionally, Sam worked to advance the Senator’s bills through outreach and events with constituents, regional groups, and legislative and executive branch colleagues.

Sam has worked as a preschool teacher where she enjoyed supporting the curiosity of young minds and connecting with each child and family to understand how to meaningfully instill a love of learning.

Sam studied Sociology at Sonoma State University in California where she also played on the women’s water polo team. The daughter of a Naval Flight Officer and Filipina immigrant, Sam grew up in San Diego, California. Sam currently lives in Northampton, Massachusetts with her family and enjoys exploring nature and volunteering for local organizations.
