The purpose of Elas is to conduct social investment activities to promote and advocate human rights for women.

Mission:

Elas raises and distributes resources to strengthen initiatives by women's groups and organizations throughout Brazil.

Programs:

Elas supports the following types of projects:

Promoting job opportunities and economic independence.
Increasing access to formal and non-formal education.
Stopping violence against women, youth, and girls.
Grassroots women promoters of justice.
Improving health conditions.
Promoting technological inclusion in the areas of information and communication.
Supporting arts and culture.
Preserving the environment and biodiversity.
Respecting ethnical, racial, sexual, generational, and other types of diversity.
