Urgent Action Fund of Latin America for Women's Human Rights

Over the years, the Urgent Action Fund (UAF) family has been able to support initiatives and innovations of local women activists, peace-builders, and human rights defenders worldwide. Our work continues to be informed by the incomparable wealth of knowledge and experiences within global women's movements. As we continue to seek ways to better serve transnational feminism, we reaffirm the necessity-and our commitment-to seed and support the transfer of financial resources and decision-making to women in the Global South/East.

Women for Women International mobilizes women to change their lives through a holistic approach that addresses the unique needs of women in conflict and post-conflict environments.

Fonds pour les Femmes en Méditerranée/ The Mediterranean Women’s Fund

The Mediterranean Women’s Fund was created in January 2008 through the initiative of women who have been involved for many years in promoting women’s rights in the Mediterranean region.

Starting from their experiences of trying to finance their projects or those of other associations in Algeria, France, Turkey, Morocco and in Palestine, they have found that it is necessary to create a structure in order to provide financial support for the women’s rights movement in the region.

On August 7 Russian military forces entered Georgia in response to Georgian military actions against separatist forces in the breakaway region of South Ossetia. Russian forces have been withdrawing, but the region is still unstable and at risk for further violence.

Delta Research and Education Foundation

The Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF) is the premier national and global research and educational organization supporting the socio-economic empowerment of African-American women and their families.

DREF was established by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation. A major component and program of DREF, The Center for Research for African  American Women serves as a comprehensive database and resource on Africa-American Women and honors their roles and contributions in building the United States.
