Power of the Purse Luncheon

The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina (CFWNC) and Women for Women are pleased to announce the Fifth Annual Power of the Purse Luncheon, to be held Thursday, June 11, 2009, at the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa. The event celebrates the power of women's philanthropy in Western North Carolina and features a silent auction of regional women's art as well as the keynote address from columnist and writer Anna Quindlen.

The Women's Fund of Winston-Salem

A group of diverse, local women are creating The Women's Fund of Winston-Salem. They are committed to providing grants to institutions and initiatives that address the ever changing needs of all women and girls in our community and to building a community of women philanthropists by raising awareness and educating women and girls about the power of philanthropy. All women and girls are invited to participate and thus realize their power to make a difference in our community.

Women for Women of the Community Foundation of W. North Carolina

What the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina does:

-Work with donors to create charitable funds according to their specific interests
-Inform donors about critical needs and match them with giving opportunities
-Responsibly manage more than $170 million in charitable assets
-Make grants and provide support to nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations and public agencies for improving life in our region
-Encourage and participate in community initiatives and partnerships
-Build awareness of the importance of philanthropy
