Securing Access to Education

Educating girls may be among one of the highest-return investments a society can make.

Women's funds have been embracing equal access to education for girls for decades and partner with established organizations working to increase the education of girls throughout the world. The adoption of the Millennium Goals by the United Nations in 2000 marked the international acceptance of what women's funds have known all along: that educating girls may be among one of the highest-return investments a society can make.

The member funds of the Women's Funding Network are at the forefront of ensuring girls get international resources for education in a way that empowers them and their communities. On six continents around the world, women’s funds provide critical support to grantee partners whose comprehensive approach to education gaps also solves the roots other problems.

The funds in our Network support programs provide women with financial literacy, job skills training, education about violence, childcare for working mothers, knowledge about healthcare and many other skills that enhance women's lives and strengthen communities.

Case Study: Leadership Academy

“Before I attended Young Voices, I felt like a failure that could never amount to anything. I felt that the best thing I could do was just stay quiet. I didn’t really care much about school. Now I push myself harder everyday”.
