Message from WFN’s Board of Directors

Dear Members and Friends of Women’s Funding Network:

The Women’s Funding Network is seeking nominations for the Board of Directors. We ask for your help in identifying strong candidates–female and male– who will bring bold leadership to the Board’s efforts to carry forward the vision and mission for the Network.

As you may know, WFN board members actively participate in our conferences and convenings, membership meetings (regional or topical); conference calls and two in-person board meetings per year. In addition, board members provide active leadership on committees and task forces, and have a responsibility to raise a portion of the annual budget. Board members serve a three-year term, and are eligible for election to two consecutive terms. The deadline for nominations is April 30, 2016. Terms begin September 1, 2016.

Attached is the Call for Nominations as well as the nomination form. We are particularly interested in nominees who have a strong commitment to building new resources for women and girls and who strive to strengthen the role of women’s funds in philanthropy. In addition to nominees with direct leadership experience at a women’s foundation or other funding institution (e.g. Executive Director or Board Chair), we seek women and men in business and aligned sectors who support our vision that a better world for women and girls is a better world for all.

The nominations committee of the board will review all nominations submitted and based upon the needs of our members and the field, as well as the qualifications of the nominees, will present a slate of candidates for election by the board of directors on June 8, 2016.

We encourage you to take the time to consider who among your staff, board, donors and partnerships might make a strong and thoughtful nominee, one whose values, skills and involvement will keep Women’s Funding Network at the forefront of progressive philanthropy and a catalyst for social change.

Thank you for your help in nominating leaders for our movement.

Sincerely,

Amina Dickerson

Chair, WFN Governance Committee
