Changing the Climate: Why Women's Perspectives Matter

Wednesday, October 8, 2008 - 8:30am - Wednesday, October 8, 2008 - 9:30am

The Women's Environment and Development Organization (WEDO) invites you to join Mary Fridley, director of development, and Cate Owren, the sustainable development program coordinator, for an informal presentation and conversation about "Changing the Climate: Why Women's Perspectives Matter."

WEDO is excited to share the exciting year they have before them as they continue to play a leadership role in pushing for a gender dimension in policies to address climate change, both in the U.S. and globally, and to press governments at the United Nations to adopt a stronger, more effective agency to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment worldwide.

The event will be held at the Tides Foundation at the Thoreau Center for Sustainablilty in the Presidio in the Atlantic Room #1014 on Lincoln Boulevard on the first floor.  For travel instructions to the Thoreau Center, visit their Website.

If you would like to attend the event, please RSVP to Mary Fridley at mfridley@wedo.org. To learn more about WEDO's work, please visit their Website.
