The Women, Faith and Poverty Initiative Overview:
The Women’s Funding Network and its member funds have made a 10-year commitment to dismantling poverty and building economic security for women and their families. The Women, Faith and Poverty Initiative is an important part of this commitment, engaging members of the faith community to join the discussion, take action and create a policy agenda that will address the needs of low-income women and their families. The Women’s Funding Network invites faith communities to engage in three strategies to foster this initiative:
- Nationwide collaborative action in philanthropic and advocacy efforts
- Disseminating information and data on women-led solutions
- Identifying and positioning women of faith at tables of influence for local, national and global impact
Join us for the first annual national convening of the Women, Faith and Poverty Interfaith Collaborative, “United by Faith: Building a Better Future for Women and Girls" on January 26-27, 2010, in Dallas, Texas. The convening will include presentations by experts in the field; discourse among leaders in the faith community and women’s funds; and identification of specific strategies to address public policy change.
If you would like to know more about this initiative, please contact Nicole Regalado.
